About the Role

• Effectively communicate with patients, visitors and staff and demonstrate empathy, patience and a positive customer focus, including assisting clinical staff in maintaining patient contact and communication with family and visitors both internally and externally.
• Perform a support role to medical and nursing staff within the department by assisting with the preparation and completion of a range of administrative duties.
• Completion of patient chart requirements as designated by District policy frameworks and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Advanced skills in the use of information technology to facilitate appropriate funding sources and ensure a high level of data quality. Systems include Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), Emergency Department Information System (EDIS), and Microsoft Office Suite and associated email.
• Conduct patient interview to determine the funding source and complete Patient Election Forms (PEF) under the legalisation of Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council, Australian Health Care Agreements and National Standards for Public Hospital Admitted Patient Election Policy and Procedure.
