The Administrative Officer is responsible for the provision of reception and clerical services to the Fertility and Research Centre which includes; clinic administration, patient enquiries, billing processes, secretarial support for key clinicians, and assisting with the development and improvement of the service.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with a positive attitude
  • Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks in a demanding workload
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in responding to a range of enquiries and ability to determine the appropriate response in a complex environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills including high attention to detail, ability to prioritise workloads while meeting strict deadlines to ensure efficient clinics.
  • Competency and accuracy in the use of information and communication technology, including Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to learn new programs readily
  • Previous experience using electronic patient administration systems (eg eMR Outpatient Clinic Scheduler and iPM) or willingness to learn and previous experience with Medicare billing/PBRC or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take responsibility for role specific deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures
