About the Role
As the Child & Family Health Nurse you will provide flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive health services in partnership with our dedicated Aboriginal Health Worker to provide a culturally appropriate, strengths-based Child and Family Health Service to the Aboriginal communities of the Narrabri Shire. The New Directions program aims to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal families with children aged 0-8 years by supporting parenting, identifying health and well-being concerns, enhancing community development and assisting with referral for early intervention and better access to health services for Aboriginal families.
This role will see you liaising with all staff within the acute and Community Health wider multi-disciplinary teams. You will be supported in this role with orientation, links with clinical supervision and Clinical Networks meetings and mentoring.
Where you'll be working
The clinician base of Narrabri Community Health is a vibrant multi-disciplinary team. This role provides support for clinical staff and service delivery to clients and their families within the Narrabri Shire & district. The Community Health service operates Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with a limited weekend service for Community Nursing.
What you'll be doing
Our ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated to Closing the Gap, self-motivated and has a passion for rural health. You will be able to work autonomously, whilst also being supported by the larger Narrabri Community Health team.
An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia. If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
All NSW Health workers are required to have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
