Job description
St John’s Catholic Primary School is located in Walkerston, 14 km inland from the large coastal city of Mackay. St John’s presently caters for its students in a mix of one and two streams in year level structures, with a future projection of two classes of each grade. Through fostering children’s ability to become reflective and self-directed learners, our school aims to nurture effective communicators, capable producers, willing participators, eager investigators and creative problem solvers.
About the role
Applications are invited for the position of Cleaner, to assist with casual/relief cleaning as required. There may be periods for the successful applicant to complete short contracts, as negotiated.
The cleaner will contribute to the effective and efficient operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of cleaning support to the school administration. The cleaner will ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained and that all duties are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by the nominee and in accordance with the school cleaning program.

Mandatory Criteria
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
