Spotless acts as the facility manager at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). The RAH is the largest, busiest and most technologically advanced hospital in Australia with 800 single in-patient rooms, including 100 same-day beds and 80,000 same-day and overnight patient admissions per year. As such, the RAH requires a skilled team to maintain a high level of cleanliness at all times.

About the Role

Working within the Cleaning and Waste team on a casual basis, this hands-on position will draw on your previous cleaning experience as you play a key role in providing an efficient service to a high standard across the hospital.

Tasks and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Working as part of a team to provide a hygienic and clean environment for patients, visitors and staff at the RAH
• Being a vital part of keeping the RAH clean by undertaking duties such as floor care, dusting, damp wiping and spot cleaning of doors, internal glass, bathrooms & toilets, fixture, fittings & vents
• Learning to undertake specialist cleaning duties such as infectious or forensic cleans in both reactive and scheduled cleans
• Assisting with waste management duties including collection and disposal of different waste streams
• Following specific work schedules and work instructions
• Maintaining proper disinfection and sanitisation of all areas.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in a cleaning and/or waste role
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to relate effectively with others
• Displays a positive attitude and approach to working as part of a team
• Motivated to improve skills and take an active part in further development
• Excellent time management skills
• Displays a willingness & flexible approach to change and change in work practices
