We are currently looking for a top-notch dynamic communications professional who is client-focused and can turn complex ideas into engaging content and help position IDB’s corporate narrative and priorities in the region by joining our communications team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Advice and develop corporate guidelines to ensure the production of high-quality narratives and engaging content in line with the institutional priorities.
Transform complex concepts into clear, meaningful, and impactful communications pieces, or different communications materials.
Write, edit, and proofread press releases, articles/Op-Eds, talking points, speeches, fact sheets, presentations, and other communications materials.
Write, edit, and proofread digital content for social media, paid campaigns, blogs, websites, and videos adapting it to specific platforms and audiences.
Ensure the content is of the highest quality, grammatically correct, properly punctuated, correctly formatted, and
Work with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to research, write, and edit content.
Use storytelling and creative messaging techniques to generate content to tell stories about the impact of the Bank’s work.
Perform other duties related to the core functions of the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may help with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
Education: You hold a master’s degree (or equivalent five years’ “Licenciatura”) in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field.
Experience: At least 7-9 years of experience in a high- level editorial role or editorial-focused communications role, including experience working with senior leaders, public relations, or journalism, preferably in an international institution or multinational corporation.
Demonstrated expertise in editing English-language text for content, tone, style, and mechanics.
Demonstrated facility in editing different formats and communications products, including press releases, speeches, talking points, articles, blog posts, statements, newsletters, research-based publications, executive summaries, social media copy, web copy, graphics, event descriptions, announcements, politically sensitive texts, etc.
Ability to synthesize and present complex content in a compelling, clear manner
Knowledge of AP style.
Professional proficiency in Spanish and understanding of Spanish-language editorial conventions.
Experience editing under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment that requires work on multiple projects at once.
Experience producing translations of Spanish text and editing translated text.
Languages: Excellent oral and written proficiency in English is required. Working knowledge of Spanish is desired. Working knowledge of a third Bank Language (French and/or Portuguese) would be a plus.

ABOUT THIS POSITION:
Type of contract: Fixed term
Length of contract: 3 years with possibility for renewal as per mutual agreement.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Contract type and duration: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
