Job Title: Sales Support Associate

Location: St. Louis, MO (onsite for training preferred with opportunity to work from home/ remote)

Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm

Job Description:

The Support Associate position involves communicating customer requirements via accurate order entry, data management, and specification review.
Provide proactive communication on the status of orders by monitoring from entry through shipment, with support from Order Management and Planning, to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Support customers by proactively reducing the frequency of complaints through effective preventative actions, customized order processing, and order management techniques to drive strong business relationships and ensure business and customer retention.
Confirm customer packaging configurations, and customer specifications using change control data to ensure customer expectations are met.
Offer alternate products and configuration(s) when the requested product is not available.
Develop solutions for customer inquiries, problem-solve to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Identify root cause and corrective actions to minimize customer impact.
Investigate and resolve the inquiry with the appropriate functional areas and the services required.

This individual will be responsible for ensuring each transaction is processed within Millipore guidelines, values and customer specifications. As a Support Associate, this individual must have the ability to learn and master a number of different skill sets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative. You will use SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft Suite and ERP Systems and other applications that house customer information to research and maintain customer account information. When required, you will be tasked with investigating issues, record lost or damaged orders, handle complaints, credit and/or rebill requests, solve situations related to orders, shipments or other customer related matters. Being able to respond to customer and sales inquiries and resolve issues quickly, competently and professionally is key to this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and written skills, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent listening and telephone communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and organized, with attention to prioritizing incoming tasks.
  • High School degree (with 5 years experience) or higher education (with 2-3 years experience)
  • Strong knowledge around Millipore's organizational structure, business practices and customer base.
  • Act as a role model of Millipore’s values and best-in-class business practices.
  • Able to meet the challenges of a fast-paced, high-energy environment, while maintaining a strong level of professionalism.
