DIET MONITOR / FOOD SERVICES ASSISTANT

Casual Position

Hunter Valley Private Hospital is seeking to appoint an individual Diet Monitor/Food Services Assistant to extend our Food Services team.

The diet monitor/ food services assistant is required to work in support of clinicians to provide safe and clinically appropriate nutrition care from food, beverages and specialised nutrition products to hospital patients.

Hunter Valley Private Hospital is an 83 bed facility with 5 theatre Operating Suite, providing medical, rehabilitation, surgical and day surgery services.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience working within a café/restaurant or food retail environment
• Experience in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent qualifications
• Demonstrated understanding and application of support to clinical dietitians
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong focus on patient care and customer service
• Demonstrated ability to follow diet protocols, safe operating procedures
• Demonstrated computer skills and experience in quality improvement
• Demonstrated ability to work to strict deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and tidy work environment

Preferred Criteria:

• Experience working within a hospital catering department
• Demonstrated understanding of food safety standards, in particular for vulnerable persons
• Barista skills and knowledge

Hunter Valley Private Hospital is located on the fringe of Newcastle and is close to the Pacific Motorway, vineyards and university.
