What You Will Be Doing

The EHR Applications Support Officer has the primary function of engaging with and supporting Peninsula Health (PH) end users across EHR applications. To achieve this, the position provides second tier support (e.g. telephone or face to face support), provides end user training, develops references, actively identifies opportunities for improvement, and assists with build, testing, data corrections, and audits.
This position works closely with other EHR Applications Support Officers to enable timely delivery of requests for service. The position also provides support to the Applications Test and Release Management Lead with executing tasks associated with EHR Applications updates. The position’s responsibilities require independent analysis, problem solving and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the EHR Applications Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the following:

  • Provide second level support for EHR applications
  • Monitor and respond to Service Desk Jobs logged to the EHR Applications Team
  • Support the Application Test and Release Management Lead with executing tasks associated with EHR Applications Release Cycles and other EHR Applications updates.
  • Support the delivery of training to end users as needed
  • Support the development and maintenance of training artefacts (e.g. Tips and Tricks, Reference Guides, Communiques)
  • Various build, troubleshooting and data correction duties
  • Regular ward presence engaging with end users to communicate key messages and collect feedback.
  • Support EHR Applications Projects as required
  • Identify and act on EHR design improvements
  • Duties as allocated by the EHR Applications Manager

What You Need

Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor degree in related discipline
  • Experience in complex healthcare or hospital setting
  • High level of computer literacy across applications (e.g. Windows, Office, Teams)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent tasks effectively
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely in a logical and effective manner
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team and as an individual
  • Current drivers’ licence

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with Cerner Millennium Solutions, another Electronic Health Record or EMR solution
  • Maintenance/Build experience with Cerner Millennium solutions or another Electronic Health Record solution
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated change management skills and interest in quality improvement processes
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills
