About the role:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our thriving Brisbane office to research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects in our Water Division. You will work under the general direction of a Senior Engineer and be responsible for a small project or part of a project/ operation requiring a sound knowledge of electrical engineering.

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for:

  • \tPerform electrical engineering design which includes modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects.
  • \tPerform calculations to analyze and design electrical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • \tAssist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications.
  • \tContribute to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • \tAssist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
  • \tCoordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • \tPrepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
  • \tAssist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
  • \tRecognize when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

To be successful for this role you'll present:

  • \tTertiary Qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical.
  • \tBetween 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar position with well-rounded experience in on Water and Waste Water projects.
  • \tKnowledge and experience in MV power systems in Australia.
  • \tExperience with CAD and power engineering software tools.
  • \tHighly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
  • \tBe working towards or have achieved CPEng and RPEQ status.
