The role
We are searching for a motivated agricultural, career-focused person with experience and knowledge in the cropping industry to join this progressive, family-owned business based near Bunnaloo in the Southern Riverina region close to the Murray River. Working with the support of the Owner, your role will be to assist in the winter cropping operations. Ideally, you will have some previous experience in a cropping-based role. Using well-maintained, modern machinery and equipment, this position would ideally suit someone with a comprehensive understanding of machinery operation, mechanical maintenance, technical problem solving and a high level of care for equipment.

Comprising of 2,400 hectares, 1,800 hectares of which are under a winter cropping regime currently growing wheat, barley, canola, peas, vetch hay, and silage and export quality oaten hay. There are also 170 hectares of irrigated cropping land including 105ha of rice and 65 ha of border check with a planned increase in irrigation infrastructure in coming years.

The offer
An attractive package will be negotiated with the successful applicant including a generous salary commensurate with experience. In addition, the applicant will also be offered an airconditioned 3BR home with an open plan lounge and dining, established treed yard, and 3 bay garage. A work ute is supplied for work use with personal use to be negotiated. Training and education are supplied where necessary. Farm-grown and butchered meat can also be negotiated. The local district is predominantly young farmers who have either taken over family operations or bought into the area. Very close to Murray River for fishing and water skiing. Great local primary school. Primary and High school bus comes past the farm. 30 minutes from Barham, 45 minutes from Deniliquin, 50 minutes to Moama.

The employer
This unique inter-generational family farming business is looking at growing and diversifying into livestock enterprises, which will require a Farm Hand to assist in all aspects of the cropping enterprise. The ideal candidate
Skills and experience required:

• Previous experience in a machinery operation cropping position (ideal)
• Good level of communication and time management skills.
• A good understanding of broadacre winter cropping and hay making.
• Current Chemcert certificate (preferred)
• Experience and knowledge in the use of air seeder, spray rig, haymaking and spreader machinery operation. (ideal)
• Attention to detail, good record-keeping, and planning skills.
• Have good time management and be able to work on their own or in a team.
• Truck license (preferred but not essential)
• Willing to learn and have pride in themselves and in their work
• Someone who wants a good work-life balance
