Alfred Health Radiation Oncology is seeking specialist Radiation Oncologist for a locum tenens position based at The Alfred Hospital and at our regional campus, Gippsland Radiation Oncology at LaTrobe Regional Hospital (LRH). Generalist Radiation Oncology expertise would be required. The applicant would need to fit well into an established Radiation Oncology team, comply with Alfred Health management protocols and quality framework, both in a regional Victorian setting, and in Melbourne. Sessions are required across both The Alfred and our site at Traralgon.
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology is based at The Alfred in Melbourne and administers a regional service for LRH, near Traralgon. The radiation therapy facility unit is fully equipped with TrueBeam Varian Linacs, 4D multi-slice helical CT scanner, Eclipse planning system, and an Aria information management system. RapidArc techniques are used in standard clinical practice, and patients are treated with stereotactic radiotherapy. There is also a seed brachytherapy program and an SXR unit.
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology is associated with Monash University in research and teaching activities and has active accredited training programs in the Radiation Oncology professions at LRH, including an accredited registrar training position..
Applicants must be legally-qualified practitioners; registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; hold Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists; have demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in radiation oncology and meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Radiation Oncology.
The position will be covering leave and may extend beyond the three month period, experience in prostate/seed brachytherapy would be an advantage.
