Permanent part time position available, this position will be responsible for providing the effective delivery of HealthShare NSW's Food Service to NSW Health hospital patients. $26.06 per hour, 14 hours per week.

HealthShare NSW are looking for highly motivated and experienced Food Service Assistants with great communication and customer service skills to join our Food Services department.

About the opportunity
You will be responsible for order taking, meal assembly, meal preparation and distribution of patient meals, recording intake, dishwashing and other associated duties. You'll need to work well in a collaborative environment and show initiative as you serve NSW Health hospital patients to ensure an optimal service. Click here to find out more.

This is a Part Time Permanent position graded as a Hospital Assistant Grade 3 with an hourly rate of $26.06 per hour. Location, Byron Central Hospital.

Vaccination Requirements
This is a NSW Health Category A position, which requires immunisation against the following:
  • Whooping Cough
  • Hepatitis B
  • Measles / Mumps / Rubella
  • Chicken Pox
  • Screening for Tuberculosis
  • COVID-19


If you have any current evidence of vaccination against these, upload them with your application. Your current vaccination status will not impact your application. If you are the preferred candidate, you will be responsible for covering the costs of any remaining vaccination requirements. For more information read the NSW Health OASV Policy.

If you are the preferred candidate, you will also need to complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment, with costs covered by HealthShare NSW.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.
