About the role

We are currently seeking a fulltime Handyman to join the Facilities Maintenance team at Christmas Island Immigration Detention Centre. This position will oversee subcontractors and services involved in the delivery of facilities management and project management that support the delivery of our contractual related asset management services. In addition, you will complete small day to day coordination, general repairs and ensure the effective management and achievement of all related WHS, Environmental and Quality issues. Accommodation will be provided; this is not a FIFO role.

You will be customer focused and be able to think on your feet and show initiative. Strong communication, attention to detail, planning and time management skills are key in this role. You will be a reliable, team player with a calm presence. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.
To be successful in this role you will have
The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
Demonstrated relevant experience in general facilities maintenance and building maintenance
Sound background working with subcontractors and achieving the required service outcomes
Sound knowledge of and experience in the use of Microsoft applications and systems
A current Australian Drivers License
