What you will be doing:
Maintaining a high standard of security and documentation of events.
Assist with the management of aggressive and/or difficult patients and visitors, respond to alarm signals to ensure a safe and secure work environment for staff, patients and visitors.
Undertake cleaning duties to a professional standard and per the local cleaning schedule.
Perform cleaning duties as rostered in accordance with Ministry of Health Standards and Procedures, including terminal cleans, high cleaning, outside cleaning and removal of soiled linen to ensure infection control and quality standards are met.
In line with Government Sector Employment Rule 26 (GSE 26) this position is targeted to Aboriginal people to improve their general employment opportunities / outcomes. To be eligible for employment with NBMLHD you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia. If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
Selection Criteria to be addressed:
- Current NSW Security Licence (Class 1A)
- Recent experience working in a Hospital Security Officer or Health and Security Assistant role
- Ability and willingness to work shift work, unsupervised and as part of a team
- Demonstrated sound, written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality principles
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements
- Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
- Current First Aid Certificate
