About the role

Mater Human Resources has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join the team in a permanent and full time capacity. Whilst based at Newstead the Mater offers a hybrid working model including working from home options.

The purpose of the role of the Health and Safety Adviser is to provide active and functional health and safety advice, guidance and coaching to Mater Health Services (MHS). The role is responsible for ensuring that all legislative and operational health and safety requirements are met and that the safety of our employees remains our highest priority. The position will provide technical expertise and support the Senior Health and Safety Advisors, and the Principal Health and Safety Advisor in establishing and maintaining the highest health and safety standards for Mater Group.

Salary Range: $77, 086-$84, 932 (MCAS4) plus superannuation and access to salary packaging

What you’ll be doing (but not limited to)

• Contribute to the development, implementation and continual improvement of best practice health and safety management systems, practices and services throughout Mater Group
• Coach employees on all aspects of workplace health and safety including matters pertaining to changes in health and safety legislation, policy and emerging trends.
• Lead and/or participate in health and safety investigations.
• Perform health and safety operational duties including but not limited to incident analysis, risk assessments and workplace inspections in accordance with business needs, relevant legislation, codes and standards
• Be an active participant in health and safety consultative committees and the health and safety representative network as required
• Develop relevant WHS reporting as required
• Provide operational support and advice to all Mater Group employees, volunteers and visitors
