About The Opportunity
The role provides an exciting opportunity to lead quality and patient safety improvement science programs at all levels of the organisation to enhance the delivery of patient care and improving overall experience. The role will be pivotal in the development of education resources, programs and the facilitation of education for staff in improvement science.

What you'll be doing
This role will assume a leadership role improving the experience of patients, families, carers and staff at SWSLHD by working with clinicians, patients, families and all staff to ensure effective, efficient and timely facilitation of innovation and improvement projects. They will achieve this through liaising with expert best practice sources such as Clinical Excellence Commission, Agency for Clinical Innovation, Clinical Networks and Streams, and provide high-level feedback and information to the LHD on the extent to which compliance with governance, quality and safety standards are being achieved.

The Improvement Facilitator will use initiative and self-direction to manage the day-to-day requirements with a high degree of competency skills and enthusiasm.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, management and or quality improvement science qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert guidance in quality improvement methodologies in a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated capability in understanding utilizing data for improvement and how to use it to achieve outcomes
  • Experience in working with patients, carers and multidisciplinary clinical staff
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence others including capacity to create networks to sustain improvement work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive professional relationships, exceptional communication skills including: written (with a proven ability to prepare briefings and reports), verbal, active listening, and the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills particularly in the area of managing multiple tasks and issues to meet deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate the NSW Health CORE Values and qualities such as integrity, warmth, friendliness and enthusiasm
