The Position
A rare and exciting opportunity is available for a suitably experienced professional to join us in the role of Injury Management Consultant.
This role is essential to providing guidance on injury management and workers compensation matters to both managers and caregivers and ensures adherence with policies, procedure, and legislation across our three hospital sites being St John of God Richmond Hospital, St John of God Burwood Hospital and St John of God Hawkesbury District Health Service.
As the Injury Management Consultant you will be responsible for the divisional coordination and provision of injury prevention strategies as well as the management of early intervention and rehabilitation programs for injured caregivers, which will include the administration of Workers Compensation claims to enable safe early Return to Work. This will include travel to the various hospitals as determined by operational requirements.
To be considered applicants must have a tertiary qualification in a relevant Allied Health discipline and/or substantial equivalent industry experience in workplace based early intervention programs, rehabilitation and claims management.
This position will be offered on a permanent full time basis of 76 hours per fortnight.
The successful candidates will meet the following Essential criteria:

- Recognised Return to Work Coordinator Certificate.
- A demonstrated understanding of Workers’ Compensation legislation.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound skills in identifying trends and issues related to injuries and making recommendations that contribute towards ongoing improvement.
- Ability to interpret and understand statistical data, and to use that information to improve systems and processes.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively with minimal direction and supervision.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and to work to deadlines.
- Well-developed computer skills and experience in using a range of software packages, including databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
