We have an exciting new opportunity for a Full-Time IT Systems Administrator to join the JewishCare Team based in Bondi Junction. This position sits within JewishCare’s IT Department and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. In this role you will be supported by another Administrator who plays an important role providing 1st and 2nd level helpdesk and systems support across the organisation’s major systems with the primary focus on both hardware and software, as well as some mobile device support. You will primarily provide higher level support as required.
The IT infrastructure within the organisation has evolved greatly over the last few years and we’re now providing a mature, stable operating environment utilising Citrix and thin clients for most staff. We’ve slowly been rolling out Office 365 Apps and just recently completed our Teams deployment. There is still a lot to do in this arena and the department is fast-paced with lots of upcoming projects that you’ll also get deeply involved with. As a result, there will be many days which will be different, and you will not be bored.
You will predominantly be responsible for providing high level support to employees, providing support both in person as well as over the phone to remote office and community based employees.
Who are you:
We are looking for a well-rounded systems administrator with at least 5 years managing Windows 10 and Windows Server environments, is happy to be the 1st level support contact, and who has an excellent ability to communicate effectively with a variety of non-technical staff on technical matters. You will also have a mature outlook, be a quick learner and can autonomously explore and troubleshoot issues as they occur to find resolution. You must be patient and possessing a good sense of humour will definitely come in handy on occasion.
Generally, you will:
- Set up and configure desktop computers/laptops, peripherals and accounts;
- Support the onboarding and offboarding of employees with access and technology;
- Work with external providers to support site-related technical or project issues;
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnose problems, and implement corrective action procedures.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential skillset and experience:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline;
- Experience working with client management systems and fast-paced helpdesk environments;
- Around 5 years of general experience managing a Windows environment, including MS Office, Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016-2019, Active Directory, Exchange administration, Group Policy management;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Wi-Fi and networking hardware and protocols, particularly with multi-site environments;
- Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills, customer-centric mindset;
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, along with a logical approach to problem solving and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to write documentation;
- Good general experience across a variety of platforms and applications and an ability to pick up and learn new platforms easily;
- Current drivers licence.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with Citrix and thin clients;
- VSphere server virtualisation environment;
- Office 365 administration;
- Experience with Azure or AWS;
- MS Teams administration;
- VoIP phone systems;
- Experience with scripting or PowerShell.
