Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for transporting the United States Postal Service (USPS) mail to and from the U.S. Post Office via company owned vehicle
• Responsible for transporting the USPS mail, internal company mail, and packages between the Teledyne sites located in Thousand Oaks and Camarillo via company owned vehicle
• Transports parts and equipment throughout the LA/Ventura County Area via company owned vehicle
• Organize and distribute the U.S. mail to the appropriate departments within the company
• Attend annual safe driver training to maintain corporate driver status
• Manage delivery priorities based on customer requests
• Support coordination on special package delivery requests
• Conduct vehicle safety inspection prior to use or operation
• Operates forklift as needed
• Uses material handling equipment (carts, pallet jack, etc.) as needed
• Maintain up-to-date procedures for operating the mail room systems to include, but not be limited to the following:
  • How to weigh envelope and packages
  • How to apply applicable postage to regular and bulk mail and packages
  • How to record and handle certified mail
• Coordinates maintenance of all company vehicles
• Provide back up support to Shipping and Receiving operations. Required to distribute packages.

Qualifications & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

• Must have valid California driver’s license and basic and enhanced driving skills to transport parts, equipment, and packages
• Must have an excellent driving record
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
• Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct
• Performs work cognizant of safe work practices (i.e., gets help from other staff to lift heavy or awkward items) and uses proper techniques for lifting and moving items
• Wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working (i.e., safety shoes, gloves, etc.) as needed
• Good physical condition required; this includes a full range of motion of all joints, agility and flexibility.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in a mailroom and/or shipping & receiving operations environment preferred
