The Position

St John of God Hawkesbury District Health is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW providing acute community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. Our healthcare facility is operated by St John of God Health Care and provides public patient services under a public-private partnership with the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Engineering Department on a permanent full time basis in the role of Maintenance Coordinator.

The Maintenance Coordinator ensures a safe, comfortable and attractive environment is maintained by providing day-to day engineering activities and maintenance services for Hawkesbury District Health Services. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager you will liaise with contracted service providers with oversight the contracted tasks correctly completed according to compliance requirements and that designated timeframes are met.

Applicants who hold extensive working knowledge across multiple trades in any commercial, hospital or Health Care establishments in a similar position are encouraged to apply. While holding a trade qualification is highly desireable it is not an essential requirement.

This position will be offered on a permanent full time basis of 38 hours per week (76 hours per fortnight). Participation in an after-hours rotating on-call roster is a requirement of this position.

The successful candidate will have:

• A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
• Extensive working knowledge across a multiple of Trades (Due to nature of engineering problems in a modern hospital, a good knowledge of all trades is required, eg. Mechanical, plumbing, steam, air conditioning, and refrigeration, carpentry and electrical).
• Proven experience in leading, coordinating and implementing projects.
• Must be available for on-call after hours roster on a rotational basis
• Good interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Effective as a member of a small team
• Ability to work and think proactively
• Ability to work efficiently in an unsupervised environment
• Good customer services skills
• Computer skills, proficient in the use of standard office software packages and engineering works management software.
