Position Overview
Managers will lead selected initiatives, support a region of schools, collaborate with others within the organization, and take a leadership role to support the organization’s mission. This position is remote, but the ideal applicant will live in the Miami area and will be able to travel to schools in Miami-Dade County.
Essential Functions
- Take a leadership role as a project manager in dept. initiatives
- Demonstrate appropriate Cognitive Emotional Management competencies
- Build relationships and demonstrate ongoing collaboration and coordination with schools and parents
- Lead a team and/or an initiative/project
- Strategize a continuous improvement model to evaluate critical success factors and the impact of each team’s work on those factors
- Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning
- Assist senior leadership on new initiatives, and serve as a resource for other SUFS staff, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of five years of combined education and/or related work experience. Subject matter expert in the field of education. Must be computer literate (MS Word, Power Point, Excel). Ability to travel statewide.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bilingual preferred; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make one’s self understood to Spanish-speaking individuals.
- Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.
- Implementation/execution skills (time management, multi-tasking, organizing projects and people).
- Managing time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to follow through.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Work well under pressure, professional demeanor, and strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Judgment and decision making; solution-driven problem solving.
- Interpersonal skills; negotiating, listening, diplomacy and tact.
- Work may require minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.
- Work will require traveling to a cohort of regional schools as well as statewide travel
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements.

Physical Demands
This position may occasionally require the abilities of minor physical exertion and/or physical strain such as lifting or exerting force up to 10 lbs. This position regularly requires the abilities of sitting, fingering or manual dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Work Environment
- This position is remote.
- The headquarters are in Jacksonville, FL, and some in-office meetings may be requested.
- The work schedule may be irregular with work sometimes required after hours and on weekends as needed.
