The global Security Manager will be a governance risk and compliance role that is responsible for executing processes to identify and measure security risks and communicating whether the deployment of Ready Education’s security controls meet defined risk tolerance, confidentiality, compliance, regulatory and customer requirements. In this role, the senior Security subject matter expert will collaborate across the teams including engineering, product and other business units to ensure that risks are measured and defined within the context of the higher education domain.


In this role, you will

  • Provide subject matter expertise on areas of privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Research current state, federal, and international privacy regulations relevant in the higher education industry and help translate them into business security procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify key business process and technology initiatives needed to ensure compliance with developing laws and regulatory frameworks, such as SOC2, GDPR, HEC-VAT, TX-RAMP and others that are applicable to our business
  • Help develop privacy policies for new product features that mitigate compliance risk with state, federal, and international privacy regulations.
  • Help develop programs focused on the delivery of a robust privacy compliance and monitoring function for Ready Education.
  • Manage annual penetration and vulnerability testing plans and vendor relationships
  • Work in partnership with the senior leaders to provide strategic vision, prioritization and direction for technology and create execution plans for long-range and short term projects
  • Help to develop a holistic global privacy framework that ties our internal standards, policies, and procedures to global privacy regulations.
  • Participate in third-party risk assessments and audits including SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA risk assessments
  • Manage the enterprise-wide, role-based information security awareness and training program

You should have

  • At least 4+ years of Security, Data Privacy and Compliance Analysis for enterprise-level SaaS platforms
  • Working knowledge and experience with CCPA, GDPR, LGPD, and COPPA
  • Are experienced with agile development practices and experience with JIRA project management software
  • Understanding of Governance, Risk and Compliance best practices and methodologies such as PIIA, HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR
  • Stays current with advancements in technology and techniques to ensure that risk and security solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards
  • Knowledge of enterprise level security systems and implementation procedures, corporate and government security regulations, security software products, domain structures, user authentication, user profiles, and digital signatures
  • Experience collaboration with infrastructure teams to improve security processes, patterns, and frameworks for AWS-centric platforms
  • Knowledge of technical security controls and technologies (e.g. IDS, IPS, traditional, NextGen and Web Application Firewalls)
  • Experience delivering strategic and tactical Security guidance for IT, Engineering, Product, Design and DevOps initiatives.
