About the role

The role of the Massage Therapist is to work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure a high standard of Massage Therapy is provided to Palliative Care patients of the Hospital, along with appropriate support and advice to their carers. The Massage Therapist will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure a patient centred, evidence based, continuous quality improvement work environment that is consistent with the values and ethics of HammondCare and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

The essence of this role:

• Provision of high standard of therapeutic massage to clients referred for massage therapy in the Palliative Care Unit
• Participate as a member of the HammondCare team in the application of the organisation’s Mission and values to the pursuit of its objectives in a client centred, continuous quality improvement work environment

About you
ESSENTIAL

• Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
• Diploma of Remedial Massage, or equivalent
• Significant practical experience in a health or aged care setting
• Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
• Demonstrated organisation and time management skills
• A current drivers license and safe driving record
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Empathy and patience

DESIRABLE

• Registered with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (or equivalent)
• An understanding of Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
