A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Mayor & Councillor Support Officer to support Council, by providing a high level of confidential and professional executive assistance and support.

About the Role

The role will be interesting and varied, with responsibilities including:

• Provide high level executive support to the Mayor and Councillors including making appointments, co-ordinating meetings, organising purchases and IT equipment, drafting correspondence and other executive support activities.
• Assist the Mayor and Councillors in event attendance through the coordination of speeches and speaking notes, and by attending events as required to provide support.
• Support Councillors professional development by actively promoting learning opportunities, sector engagement and understanding of legislative obligations; and assisting in the coordination and administration of training programs.
• Contribute to the functioning of the Mayor and Councillor Support Unit and the Governance Department by providing assistance to officers as required.

About You

• You will have exceptional organisational skills and be adept at prioritising your workload in an environment of conflicting demands, whilst maintaining a professional and confidential approach.

• You will be an excellent communicator, with a customer focussed approach using sound judgement to effectively coordinate information requests and enquiries and also, establishing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• You will have well-developed written and oral skills with the ability to draft clear correspondence and use good judgement to support informed decisions.
