About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Project Engineer looking for the next step in their career to join our thriving Sydney Mechanical team.
The successful candidate will have the pleasure of working a variety of project types including data centres, commercial, health, retail, office, residential, high-rise, industrial and education.
You will be a cultural, technical and strategic leader within the Mechanical section and represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding in career path in a successful consultancy.
Day to day tasks would involve:
- \tIndependently manage HVAC design projects in accordance with code and company quality standards
- \tDevelop HVAC Engineering, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation
- \tFocus on program, documentation, profitability, technical aspects, risk management and overall client satisfaction
- \tDelegate tasks to junior engineers, provide feedback and contribute to their development
- \tBuild and develop your professional profile both internally and externally by consistently demonstrating an ability to successfully deliver projects.
- \tCarrying out site and building surveys, contract administration and report writing duties
- \tSuccessfully manage project resourcing requirements and delegate to your team members
- \tContribute to internal procedures, technical library and QA procedures
- \tLiaise with external stakeholders
- \tAttending project meetings
- \tAdhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec's quality procedure
To be successful for this role you'll need:
- \tMechanical Engineering Degree (CPEng and NER highly desirable)
- \tDiverse HVAC Design Experience
- \tExperience working within a consultancy environment
- \tExcellent written and verbal communication skills
- \tPositive, can-do attitude
- \tAbility to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- \tPrevious experience in a similar role highly desirable
- \tThe ability to use initiative and think outside the box
- \tIdeally have experience in delegation and managing other team members
