Other treatment modalities include HDR brachytherapy, superficial/orthovoltage XRT and TBI. The department also has a 3T MRI scanner for simulation and research.

Current planning system comprise: Oncentra Brachy, RayStation, Philips Pinnacle3, and Tomotherapy planning, as well as MIM for various imaging functions. A broad range of dosimetry and software tools are available.

In addition to training towards certification registrars will become part of the clinical fabric of the department, undertaking a broad range of duties. Active participation in various multidisciplinary forums, including site specific tumour groups, is expected, with the intent to provide the registrars with practical clinical and communication experience.

Research participation is strongly encouraged along existing research lines, including portal dosimetry, MRI imaging for radiotherapy, and MRI-Linac interactions & development (https://inghaminstitute.org.au/where-we-work/ingham-institute-mri-linac). Strong relationships exist with University of Sydney and Wollongong University in addition to the clinical school links to UNSW & UWS, and suitable candidates may become affiliates of the Ingham Institute.
