About the role;

This newly created team and role at CareChoice will offer permanent part-time salaried opportunities.

The role of the Rapid Response Enrolled Nurse provides interim nursing care and support to new CareChoice clients requiring urgent care, usually following a recent hospital admission whilst a team of nurses is recruited and trained to support the client long-term.

This role includes travel to regional areas in response to service demand.

The role will require you to be away from home for 6 to 12 weeks at a time.

Due to the fast past nature of this role, we're looking for staff who have minimal commitments keeping them in one place, allowing them to attend to our regional clients with sometimes, short notice.

When our Rapid Hospital Discharge team are not on regional placements, you will be provided with a roster close to your home base.

Travel allowances, meals and accommodation will be provided by CareChoice.

All training and induction sessions will be subsidised as part of the recruitment and onboarding process.

  • Ability and willingness to perform duties as required with as much involvement with the client as possible. Critical that clients are engaged and involved in all tasks and activities in line with principles of person-centred active supports.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Trustworthy, (already mentioned) and honest.
  • Exceptional patience and understanding to client needs.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to ‘think on your feet’ within your scope of practice.
  • Solid critical thinking skills and understanding of when to escalate care to Clinical Team leader for best client outcome.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Reliable; attend shifts on time as agreed and report Mobile Rapid Response Enrolled Nurse PD 4 inability to work as soon as practicable to a Care Coordinator.
  • Presents in a clear, pleasant, professional, and confident
    manner.

You will need to come with

Essential

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an EN in Aged Care, Disability or Nursing.
  • Previous experience in a similar role providing direct support to complex clients in the community setting
  • International police check – where applicable.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
  • Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS Check).
  • A mobile phone with data enabled.
  • Medication management experience (endorsement as an EEN would be highly regarded)
  • A sound understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements in client care provision.
  • A good knowledge of the issues and concerns for people with disabilities, the aged, their families and support networks.
  • A current Victorian driver licence.
  • A registered, insured, and roadworthy vehicle, and the willingness to transport clients in own vehicle.


Preferred:

  • An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and assisting persons who
    display behaviours of concern.
  • Experience supervising and supporting Disability Support Workers
