About the client

We are currently recruiting for a National Account Manager to represent our client, Procter & Gamble, in the independent grocery channel. A global powerhouse in consumer goods, Procter & Gamble products have made a name for themselves by combining “what’s needed” with “what’s possible”—making laundry rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, nurseries and bathrooms a little more enjoyable for over 181 years.

About the role

The key objective of this role is to lead the customer relationship in this continually evolving business; managing a profitable category, driving continual growth both within existing accounts and via new business acquisition.

  • $150K salary package (Including superannuation) + bonus/commission structure
  • Comprehensive joint business planning with national and state-based customer groups
  • Collaborate with Market Strategy & Planning Team (MS&P) and Brands to drive initiatives that create value and volume sales opportunities
  • Drive promotions at Metcash that increase trial, consumption and shipments
  • Manage trade expenditure whilst ensuring promotional effectiveness
  • Proactively use data from multiple sources to develop insights regarding business opportunities and potential risks.
  • Management of the centralised sales planning and forecasting for Metcash
  • Leading the customer relationship to drive long term profitable growth for TCCD and P&G
  • Hybrid role - work from home and the office

Success Criteria

  • To be successful, you will have directly relevant experience in Account Management, preferably 2 + years within the FMCG industry at a national level, experience with other complex customer channels from another industry would also be considered
  • Open to experienced Account Managers who are looking for a new unique opportunity
  • Knowledge and understanding of category insight, preferably having worked with Aztec or similar reporting tools
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering business plans and exposure to independents is essential
  • The ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders both internally and externally combined with astute commercial business planning, is a must.
