Port Macquarie Hastings Council (PMHC) is seeking a highly motivated professional to lead the strategic and operational delivery of environmental protection and enhancement projects and services. The Position

As Natural Resources Manager, your focus will be on managing the strategic direction and delivery of environmental projects particularly related to biodiversity, bushfire mitigation, biosecurity and coast and estuary management.

You will be a strong people manager supervising your team’s project delivery and budgets to ensure organisational priorities, goals and objectives are met. You will provide the lead role in negotiating, monitoring and managing development offsets, oversee the delivery of environmental strategies, plans, studies and related partnerships. You will balance the environmental focus of this team with the wider organisational goals and deliver cost effective and innovative solutions to complex environmental issues.

As a professional with a respectful and collaborative approach, our ideal candidate has experience in development related matters, with a strong understanding of political, social and legal influences in the environmental project space. You will have a demonstrated ability to provide consistent and decisive leadership to a team while developing, mentoring and empowering staff.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full Time, 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $106,639 - $120,023 depending on skills and experience

Benefits: Flexible work arrangements, hybrid work and flexi-time, discounted gym membership, career development opportunities, annual salary increase set as per the Local Government (State) Award 2020 plus annual salary review, long service leave after 5 years and employee assistance program.

Package: This role would qualifies for a Leaseback Motor Vehicle or Vehicle Allowance as well as being eligible for Council’s recruitment incentive which includes financial assistance towards relocation, temporary accommodation and/or professional development / study.
