About us
John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north west of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, a 12 cubicle Emergency Department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed critical care complex and busy Day Procedure Unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.

As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership and direction to Day of Surgery Admissions and Endoscopy Unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital
• Providing operational direction for the ward to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels
• You will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team

Essential Criteria:

• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Working with Children check
• Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
• Bachelor of Nursing
• Post Graduate qualification in Peri-operative Nursing
• Previous Day of Surgery and Endoscopy experience.
• Compliance with ACSQHC National standards
• A strong commitment to developing in a management role
• Computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
• Demonstrated HR management experience

If you are successful, you will receive a salary as per Healthscope VIC Nurses and Midwives Agreement 2021-2025 for years of nursing experience at the NUM rate of $61.0555 per hour
