What you'll be doing
An Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 full time contract to the 23rd December 2022 is available.

Come and join the community based OT team in Community Health Care at Lemongrove Community Health Centre in the Penrith area. The position provides clinical intervention to adult/aged clients living in the community with varied health conditions under a multidisciplinary model of care and includes the provision of clinical assessment and intervention for chronic and complex health conditions, pressure injury management, assistive technology, environmental modifications and palliative care.

This position is part of a larger Occupational Therapy Department across four Community Health Centres with skilled clinicians in a supportive environment.

The Occupational Therapist position is responsible for the provision of quality Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and management of clients with chronic and complex health conditions and/or aged care needs to promote restoration and improvement in functional activity and promote safety within the home and community.

An eligibility list may be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases:

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  • Qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services for clients with chronic, aged and complex needs, designing and implementing client centred plans, managing complex client care and discharge planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment, planning and evaluating interventions, with the ability to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to students and support other staff.
  • Demonstrated, effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with consumers, teams and agencies, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and demonstrated knowledge and experience with quality improvement and evidence based practice.
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
