About the role
- Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the operating tables using appropriate equipment.
- Assist with Perioperative antiseptic preparation, limb support and manipulation, irrigation fluids, and basic cardiac pulmonary resuscitation.
- Apply cast, splints and other appliances to patients as directed.
- Cleaning of operating theatres and associated areas in accordance to the Queensland Health Guidelines and Infection Control Guidelines. This will include a 'high clean' of the theatre environment by the operating theatre assistant during core business hours.
- Maintain equipment in a safe, operational and serviceable condition. Report defects or issues to the Supervisor of Operating Theatre Assistants in a timely manner.
