About the role:

We are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager who has the expertise to lead this function and drive the continued growth of this successful branch in our state-of-the-art facility in Adelaide. This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-established branch and make your mark immediately in a large capital city depot. This is a senior role that oversees a critical function in our business. Not only supporting the warehousing and logistical requirements, but genuinely driving continuous improvement and best practice.

Under the guidance of the Branch Manager who themselves has been promoted from within, they are keen to bring in the expertise needed to truly impact the operational efficiency of the depot now and into the future.
Some of what you will be doing:
- Achieving personal, as well as operational team targets and KPIs
- Leading, coaching, mentoring, and managing your operational team to provide exceptional customer service and positive outcomes
- Working with managers and team members to identify opportunities for improvement, creating action plans and receiving commitments to ensure outcomes/results are achieved
- Ensure Kent’s safety standards are met on site and your most important asset, your people, advocate safety as a priority
- To control the activities of Operations in a cost-effective manner
- To oversee efficient employee and vehicle daily programming for local, interstate, and international removals.
- To ensure that all relevant systems and documentation are accurate, precise, and complete, within the WMS
About you:
Ideally you will have exposure to the removals industry. You will have demonstrated success in operations and mentoring others. Your experiences will show a hands-on approach that successfully oversees and assists with the day-to-day management of frontline staff. We don’t want to maintain our position we want someone to come in and continue to grow it. So, looking outside the box, trying new things, and finding efficiencies are the traits we are looking for.
What else we are looking for:
- Your commercial acumen means you understand what’s needed to support a successful business
- Sound operational understanding that can juggle labour, inventory, equipment, warehousing, purchasing and the forward thinking to keep on top of it all
- You know and understand people and you invest in their development and training
- Good understanding of operational efficiency and cost control
