Summary

NFL Media is seeking a part-time photo editor to join our team. The NFL’s photo department manages still imagery across our digital platforms and League groups, including editorial, social, and marketing. The ideal candidate has a passion for football and visual storytelling, and a drive to find the most engaging images for our audience. This position will focus largely on assisting with editing images, maintaining our archive of creative assets, and developing content plans for our digital platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop daily content plan for photo galleries and NFL Focus Instagram account.
• Build feature art for homepage, fulfill requests for article thumbnail images and video stills. Assist with photo research for internal and external image requests.
• Support the Photo Manager in the maintenance of the creative asset library. Check stylized templates for accuracy and make adjustments as needed. Work with Creative department to coordinate new stylized templates and distribute to photo team. Maintain documentation of current and available templates.
• Provide editing support for game days and tentpole events. Assist with building weekly shot list for game day photographers. Edit, caption and transmit images in real-time.
• Assist with maintaining in-house image archive and distribution of NFL images. Ensure proper archival of incoming images from games, events, and photoshoots.
  

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience photo editing for digital media, preferably for editorial outlets.
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in photography, visual design, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of best practices for editorial images.
• Fluency in Adobe Photoshop and Photo Mechanic.
• Experience in photo content for digital and social media.
• Experience photo editing for editorial outlets, captioning and applying metadata.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.
• Passion for the NFL, familiarity with NFL news and storylines.
  

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience in sports photography preferred.
• Familiarity with content management systems and FTP clients.
• Familiarity with photography rights and licensing.
• Experience in event coverage a plus.
  

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

• Must not work more than 29 hours/week
