About the role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
  • Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs
  • Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
  • Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
  • Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

We are looking for someone who

  • is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
  • holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • the ability to work a Monday - Friday roster (morning shifts)
  • currently holds a valid NSW driver’s licence (P2 licence acceptable)

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2020_017)
