*$78,501 per annum (Band 5), plus super *Temporary Full Time until May 2023 *Parental Leave Replacement

Hume City Council is seeking a Payroll Officer to join the People and Culture team to provide payroll support to the organisation, maintaining a high level of accuracy to ensure all aspects of payroll services and processes are effieciently completed within timeframes.

As an experienced payroll professional you will be responsible for the processing of pay runs; generation of management reports, calculating and understanding of leave entitlements, as well as processing new starters and terminations.

You will also be comfortable using the other related systems that interact such as time and attendance systems and Employee Self Service (KIOSK).

Key Skills

  • Previous experience as a Payroll Officer using electronic payroll systems (preferably CHRIS21 or iChris)
  • Knowledge of EBA's, Award interpretation, Acts and Regulations
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to communicate sensitive issues to various audiences and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to manage workload
  • A customer focused attitude and proactive approach to work
