Job location
Based at our Prison Directorate Corporate Office located in Derrimut, just 20 minutes west of the city. Our Prison Directorate provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region.
About the Role:
As a member of the P&C team, the Business Partner – Prisons will provide strategic P&C consultancy and advisory services to Forensicare's Prisons Directorate. The Business Partner – Prisons will work as a conduit of support and services between the Prison Directorate leaders and the Centres of Excellence in the P&C team including:
  • IR and ER
  • Health Safety Wellbeing
  • Learning and Organisational Development
  • Talent Acquisition
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Duties:
  • Build and maintain effective relationships to ensure the implementation and application of P&C strategies, frameworks, policies, procedures and practices, in the context of a business partnership service delivery model.
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to build people leadership practice capability through providing coaching, advice and assistance on people management, including change management to strengthen managers' skills and capability.
  • Provide advice and guidance on organisational change processes and change management principles and workforce planning.
  • Leadership, management and development of P&C Officer
About You:
You will have a strong business partnering background, with an appreciation and ability to operate in a challenging secure environment, supporting a committed team delivering our services and Model of Care to individuals with Mental Illness within the custodial environment.
What you need:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human resources, Employee Relations or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying industrial agreements, awards, legal advice and other relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated contemporary industry knowledge as a generalist human resources professional.
  • Significant experience in providing accurate Human Resources policy and employment law advice to managers to develop practical workplace solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations matters
