What you'll be doing
Working with personnel in Kids Rehab to implement, maintain and co-ordinate Physiotherapy services for children referred to this service. Responsibilities will include ongoing review of policies and procedures related to service delivery and referral to community agencies. Participation in teaching, research and Quality Activities is essential.
The physiotherapist may provide clinical services to inpatients, ambulatory rehab patients and out patients as determined by Kids Rehab clinical priorities. The physiotherapist will provide evidence based care within a multidisciplinary and family centred context, and utilise holistic physiotherapy models of care. Promoting coordination of care from acute to ambulatory services and facilitating discharge and transfer of care to community providers.
Participation is required in ongoing education, teaching, evidence based practice and quality improvement activities.
The Level 3 Physiotherapist will contribute at an advanced level to:
Planning, development and evaluation of physiotherapy services.
Development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures and practice guidelines for patient care.
Liaison with community based services relevant to the patient population.
Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and AHPRA registration.
Significant postgraduate experience and knowledge in paediatric neurodisability &/or experience in brain injury.
Demonstrated advanced level of clinical skills – ability to provide interventions and coordinate care for patients with complex needs.
Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, (including negotiation and conflict resolution skills) and proven success in multidisciplinary team settings.
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to work flexibly within clinical and administrative service demands.
Experience in supervision of physiotherapy staff and students
Demonstrated leadership skills in service delivery improvement activities and/or research.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
