Seasoned in procurement and inventory management, utilise your strengths in communication and organisation to optimise Huon’s end-to-end purchasing and inventory management strategy by supporting, developing, and implementing effective business processes and systems as the Procurement & Inventory Manager.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Procurement & Inventory Manager will:

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers whilst liaising with internal teams regarding their supply needs
• Drive the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve purchasing processes in line with changing organisational needs and market conditions
• Track and report key functional metrics to optimise cost, working capital and process efficiency/effectiveness
• Identify and source new suppliers and materials/services where required
• Monitor supplier compliance with contractual agreements and service level commitments
• Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders, considering order quantities, stock holding arrangements and inventory policy

Operating on a full-time basis this role will be based at our Hobart Office to oversee procurement and inventory processes across Huon's Operations.

ABOUT YOU

• Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing and inventory processes, policies, and systems
• Highly adept interpersonal skills, relationship building, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts where required
• Highly organised and possesses ability to effectively organise, schedule priorities and manage strict deadlines
• Proven ability to solve problems through effective analysis and strategizing
• Track record of developing successful initiatives achieving continuous improvement of purchasing processes

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary qualification in business related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
• Current Drivers Licence
