Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

Working within the Planning and Purchasing area of the Housing Policy and Programs Unit, the occupant will coordinate procurement activities that enables effective and efficient service delivery of housing and homelessness services for Communities Tasmania. As a member of the Planning and Purchasing team, the Procurement Officer is responsible for coordinating the procurement process to select new housing and homelessness services, in a collaborative manner which is client and community focussed.

Selection criteria includes:

• Well-developed written communication skills, including attention to detail skills, and demonstrated ability to prepare concise and correct written documents that identify relevant issues and make recommendations to shape strategic thinking at senior management level.
• Well-developed coordinating skills, and demonstrated experience in purchasing community services for Government, preferably the planning and purchasing of housing

• Working towards or successful completion of qualifications relevant to the job.

Essential Requirements:

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  • c) serious drug offences
