We are a dedicated team of designers, programmers, production managers and builders of stages, lighting, video and entire productions. We were the first - and remain the largest - entertainment design firm in Australia. Mandylights operates in Australia and the UK on projects in every corner of the world meaning domestic and international travel and career progression opportunities are potentially available.

About the role:

Mandylights is currently recruiting for a Production Coordinator to join our busy team located in Leichhardt, Sydney.

This role will support Mandylights’ project leads and management team by crewing, organising, scheduling vehicles and other resources for our diverse range of projects both in Australia and internationally.
The Production coordinator will identify efficiencies and shortfalls in resource allocation and work with the business to resolve any potential issues.

General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively work with project leads and management to identify crewing and resource needs for each project
  • Identify and allocate full time, casual and contract staff to projects and shifts as required, along with negotiating rates for freelance casuals
  • Build and maintain excellent relationship with our network freelance talent, onboard all new casuals, as well as manage their shifts and approve timesheets for payroll
  • Identify creative and new avenues for attracting and retaining freelance talent
  • Arrange and book resources to support projects such as plant equipment, truck transport, hotels, flights, etc
  • Work closely with our UK-based Production Coordinator to find efficiencies with crewing.

To be successfully considered for this role you’ll be computer and software proficient, be highly organised and able to balance competing priorities using initiative. Previous experience in an entertainment production environment (such as theatre, live events, etc) and a tertiary qualification in a related field would be ideal - however if you have extensive experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment and enjoy the company of creative types, then please still apply.

You’ll be the type of person who works collaboratively and is passionate about developing strong relationships both internally and externally to Mandylights. We are seeking a passionate individual who works hard and has some fun along the way.
