Lyon College currently enrolls approximately 600 students from over 30 states and 18 countries who are pursuing any of 23 majors that span the liberal arts and sciences that lead to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.). Essential Job Functions:
Lyons College is embarking on an exciting journey to bring an RN to BSN nursing program to their campus. The successful program director will have experience building a similar nursing program, familiarity with the accreditation process, and be a passionate educator. This is a highly collaborative role, within a school with a strong relationship focus. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of clinical nursing experience, nursing instruction experience, and a flair for administration.
- 50% Teaching – 12 credit hours of teaching; a combination of in-person and online instruction.
- 50% Administrative – Includes curriculum design and evaluation, program assessment, faculty recruitment and evaluation/assessment, and student recruitment/ retention.
Performance Expectations:
- Administers the undergraduate BSN Program through collaborative leadership, guidance, and direction.
- Leads the accreditation process.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates courses and curriculum for the BSN Program to meet professional standards with the BSN team and meets national nursing accreditation.
- Develops class and clinical schedules.
- Analyzes, evaluates, revises, and maintains an educational program consistent with current nursing policies.
- Actively participates in recruitment and retention of BSN students.
- Evaluates student performance while motivating and advising students.
- Develops and monitors department budget; pursues other funding sources such as grants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Nursing; Doctorate in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Arkansas licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Professional nursing experience.
- Academic and clinical experience in nursing education.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years teaching at the postsecondary level.
- Knowledge of and experience with national accreditation for nursing programs.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness in campus and online nursing courses.
- Evidence of the ability to supervise and collaborate with colleagues in academic and clinical settings.
