About The Role:

We are currently seeking a Project Development Manager to join our Asset Strategy team based in Sydney. Reporting to the Strategy & Portfolio Development Manager the main responsibility for this role is to lead the pumped hydro project procurement development activities.

Overseeing and collaborating with the Oven Mountain Project developers to progress the Projects EIS and ultimately take the Project through to Final Investment Decision. Managing mechanical, electrical and civil engineering aspects of the project. Also contributing to the broader commercial areas and will be involved in overseeing business case development.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a procurement strategy for the Project (for example an Early Contractor involvement model – “ECI”)
  • Develop market engagement strategies and tender documentation. Issue of communications to parties shortlisted as part of the Early-Stage Procurement Phase
  • Support Project Leadership with all aspects of the Project including the progression of the Project’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)
  • Participate in the preparation of the Project budget and addressing any variances from budget
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with key senior internal customers and other key stakeholders

To be successful you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering
  • Professional member, chartered member or fellow of Engineers Australia or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in project development, project management and procurement on developing a large scale renewable, storage or transmission projects in Australia
  • Solid understanding of Contract Law and highly developed skills in negotiating and construction and operation contracts
  • Experienced in progressing generation / storage projects through a development consent process
