Position Summary
Psychologist
Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Psychologist to join the Agnes Parent and Infant Psychiatric Unit at 0.2 EFT On-Going.
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager this role plays an important role in providing therapeutic support to Parents and infants in The Agnes Unit, Latrobe Regional Hospital.
Agnes Unit accommodates five families in a seven day residential unit providing therapeutic and clinical support to new parents and their infants up to 12 months of age. It is a sub-acute unit accepting clients with complex needs. The unit supports interventions that may be required for adjustment or emotional issues through to moderate mental health concerns.
We work with clients who have perinatal depression and/or anxiety, a history of trauma, relationship concerns, bonding issues and adjustment disorders. Their infants may be experiencing sleeping and settling and/or feeding difficulties
The successful applicant will:
- Have the ability and experience to conduct therapeutic group work
- Have the ability and experience in providing family therapy, and
- Have the experience or ability to conduct parent/infant dyadic work.

Essential: Sound knowledge of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) and associated guidelines, the Mental Health Act (2104) and other relevant legislation, government policy and strategic directions in the mental health field.
Essential: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Essential: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to relate to consumers, carers, family members other professionals and members of the general community.
Essential: Registration with Psychology Board of Australia
