Public Health Educator - PREVENTION SPECIALIST – Bilingual Spanish

OMNI Youth Services, has an excellent opportunity for a Prevention Specialist, Bilingual – Public Health Educator to develop and coordinate school and community-based prevention programs that will reduce rates and prevalence of pregnancy, sexually-transmitted infections, substance misuse, and adverse mental health conditions among area youth. This position will work with school personnel to develop programs for youth and use methods and instruments for collecting valid and reliable quantitative and qualitative data. Major responsibilities include delivery of effective prevention education curricula, classroom teaching, and community outreach. In addition, planning and creating educational materials, both print and digital via social media, will be required. Each staff is required to report on program performance and apply strategies for continuous quality improvement.

The ideal candidate will be able to work comfortably with a wide range of people, including youth, parents, school administrators, and community leaders. Candidate must possess a desire to be team-oriented and a solid belief in experiential learning. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change are critical.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in public health, marketing, education, social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish is required.
• Proven leadership and project management experience (professional or volunteer)
• Effective collaboration with diverse populations and multi- or inter-disciplinary colleagues.
• Implementing effective prevention strategies with fidelity.
• Developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with contacts within educational systems and communities in agency’s service area to promote prevention education.
• Clear and concise communication, including the ability to effectively speak publicly when conducting presentations and/or facilitating meetings/classrooms.
• Can work well independently under limited supervision and maintain organizational skills while working with multiple work assignments, both in-person and remotely.
• Able to collect and report on work as required by funders, (as needed).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including limited evenings and weekends, in-person and remotely (as needed)
• Candidate must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation, with the ability to lift and transport required program materials.

Desired Skills:

• Experience teaching/training in a classroom setting.
• Experience in program promotion and community outreach.
• Experience with marketing, graphic design, content creation, and/or media campaigns.
• Experience with graphic design software (Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Publisher, etc.).
• Knowledgeable use of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram).

Location: 70% remote, 30% regional travel (milage reimbursement)
