The Djilang Alliance, comprising McConnell Dowell, Downer, Arup and WSP Australia, has been selected as the preferred contractor for the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication.
The South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication is part of the Australian and Victorian governments’ more than $1 billion investment in the staged upgrade of the Geelong Line and a critical step in delivering more frequent and reliable services.
With a completion date targeted for 2024, the project will include:
- Duplicating around eight kilometres of track between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds
- Rebuilding South Geelong and Marshall stations featuring new station buildings and forecourts, second platforms and accessible pedestrian overpasses
- Removal of the level crossings at Fyans Street and Surf Coast Highway and replaced with elevated rail bridges
- Signalling upgrades between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds
- More than five kilometres of new shared user pathslinking to existing trails and paths and creating a continuous connection between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds.
The Djilang Alliance are seeking Quality and Completions Managers looking for their next opportunity in the South Geelong area.
The newly formed Alliance are keen to hear from experienced Quality and Completions professionals with prior experience in the infrastructure Construction Industry.
At Djilang Alliance, some of the responsibilities of our Quality and Completions Managers include:
- Reporting on Quality, Completions and Commissioning related matters, including preparation of summary reports as required
- Driving the collation of construction data and deliverables to achieve the Framework’s quality assurance, completion and handover requirements
- Document management and control of Framework records through the selected electronic document management system in accordance with company policy and client requirements
- Ensuring Quality compliance within the Framework’s policies, procedures and Management Plans
- Managing the Framework’s audit schedule and identifying areas of risk with relation to quality that require auditing
- Auditing manufacturers and sub-contractors as required to ensure requirements are met for relevant standards and quality controls
- Initiating appropriate action and escalation for issues found during auditing activities
- Ensuring system is in place on project sites for identification of non-compliances and instigation of corrective actions as required
- Coordinating with relevant personnel to facilitate implementation of corrective actions identified
- Reporting on the Framework’s performance under the Quality Management System, identifying areas for improvement where possible.
- Implementing the Project close out process
- Overseeing the Completion and Handover process with the Quality & Completions Engineers and the wider project team
- Minimum five years of relevant construction experience
- At least three years of relevant construction quality management experience
- Detailed understanding of relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related to management systems
- High level communication, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills
- Solid relationship building skills
- High level writing skills
- Good presentation skills with ability to demonstrate and train others
