Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Specialist provides support and assistance to the AVP, Quality Assurance Compliance in managing a program of loan quality assurance and review. The incumbent is primarily responsible for coordinating the third-party review of funded and denied Consumer, Solar and Mortgage loans.
The incumbent partners with Strategic Lending, Special Assets Group, Consumer Lending, Mortgage Lending and Enterprise Risk Management as appropriate to resolve issues and address training needs. All duties are performed in adherence with Technology Credit Union (Tech CU) policies, procedures, guidelines and compliance objectives while supporting the organizational corporate values.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
- Coordinates a sample review of funded and denied Consumer, Solar and Mortgage loans in accordance with established timelines.
- Processes the findings reports, assigns findings tasks and monitors them until they are resolved.
- Responds to questions regarding findings reports, findings tasks and the monthly summary reporting.
- Performs the review of critical loan data change reports, requests clarification and/or documentation, creates findings tasks and monitors them until resolved.
- Performs first and second line of reviews of loan data using data warehouse reports in order to identify and address training issues.
- Prepares monthly summary reporting that is provided to the management team.
- Interacts with other departments regarding the resolution of identified issues in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provides support for audits and examinations.
- Creates and maintains clear and concise procedures.
- Participates in projects as assigned by manager.
- Seeks out efficiencies and process improvements within the scope of duties.

Work Schedule*
- Full-time; typically 40 hours/week
- 8:30am-5:00pm PST, (Monday – Friday) is the general schedule, may be adjusted by manager.
- Flexibility to occasionally work from home, work early or late hours, and work extended weekend hours, typically with advance notice.

Qualifications: Education: Associates Degree or equivalent job experience (Bachelor’s Degree preferred with emphasis in finance or business)

Experience: *
- 3+ years of consumer lending experience in banking.
- Experience with audit duties preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *
- General knowledge of consumer lending products, applications, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Excellent ability to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions using a set of data.
- Demonstrated ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly, with strong attention to detail.
- Solid ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Basic ability to prepare and analyze reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and manage multiple projects.

Travel: * May be required occasionally to attend offsite training, meetings or events, typically with advance notice. Overnight travel unlikely.

- Ability to sit 80% of the day.
- Keyboarding and reading a computer screen for up to 80% of time during which one is seated.

- Mobility to attend meetings within office building and offsite.

This is a grade 5 position, with a salary range from $65,600 to $98,400 with bonus potential of 7%. The anticipated range for new hires is between the low-end and midpoint of the range, depending on experience. Tech CU is a pay-for performance organization that benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of our market and we provide incentive-based compensation aligned with successful accomplishment of individual and corporate goals. The salary mentioned above is based on working in San Jose, CA. Salaries are based on the geographic location in which you live if working remotely.
