SUMMARY
Primary responsibilities for the receiver are to direct the unloading of trucks with various waste streams at plant facility and prepare customer tickets according to company procedures and required recordkeeping. Reviews manifest, prepares required data entry, collect samples, and performs lab tests on load samples prior to admitting the waste. Directs customer truck traffic. If load is approved, determines appropriate destination and directs waste to ensure proper offloading. Coordinates process with plant staff. Performs a variety of administrative tasks at facility.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE JOB*: (Technical Knowledge, Years of Related Experience, Certifications Required, Equipment and/or Systems Experience)
- High School diploma, trade school or general education degree (GED) required with ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational process, safety and quality instructions). Must have the ability to perform basic math equations and have computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Must have the ability to diagnose process problems, troubleshoot basic equipment and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
- Knowledge of safety training such HAZMAT class a plus.
- Must understand and follow all safety policies and apply good safety practices while working and possess an exemplary safety record.
- Must have ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work effectively in a fast pace d environment with interruptions.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment.
- Must pass a drug screen, pre-employment physical and background check.
- Must have ability to communicate at all levels including engineers, operations staff, mechanical and electrical staff and with customers.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Be an example of integrity and honesty to the less experienced staff.
TRAINING REQUIRED: Employee Orientation; Safety, Equipment, regulatory training; May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
- Collects samples of incoming waste from end trucks and performs analytical lab work of the collected waste according to established procedures. Practices safe work habits and ensures proper handling of materials and proper grounding of trucks. Executes corrective actions and preventative actions according to safety program before issues arise.
- If load is approved determines appropriate disposal location at facility and directs truck to ensure proper offloading and safety in conjunction with heavy equipment and separation processes at the plant.
- Ensure that all materials necessary for the maintenance of the analysis/test area are in stock.
- Practices good housekeeping, maintains the cleanliness of the test area and all instruments and equipment.
- Disposes of all fluids including oils and chemicals according to established safety and environmental policies.
- Performs administrative office functions including answering the telephone, monitoring emails, faxing, making copies, creating customer manifest and reports as required.
- Prepares customer tickets according to company procedures and required recordkeeping.
- Assists personnel at facility as required with other operator and maintenance duties.

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
Receives intermittent supervision. Objectives, priorities and deadlines are defined. Assistance is given with unusual situations that do not have clear objectives. Plans and carries out successive steps and resolves problems and deviations in accordance with instructions, policies and accepted practices.

Must conform to standard work practices (safety, security, environmental procedures) and Company business practices and codes of conduct. Initiative: Acts to prevent conditions from getting out of hand or to resolve an issue as they see fit and reports immediately. Is preauthorized to cope with issues with diplomacy and then report the results of their actions right away. Must be proactive in elevating situations to management as required in order to prevent losses. Errors could be serious if truck is admitted with unacceptable materials or unloaded into the incorrect destination at the facility.
INTERPERSONAL/COMMUNICATIONS
Contacts with immediate associates and immediate supervisor for instructions, training and guidance. Regular internal contact with all functional areas to communicate and resolve issues. Frequent contact with drivers, customers, and service contractors to clarify, obtain or furnish information and to resolve problems.

- Spends significant amount of time in operations environment and some time in the office environment.
- May need to drive company vehicles in the course of job duties. Occasional travel for training and meetings. Exposed to possible operations hazards including dust, fumes, chemicals, machinery, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, climb and kneel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
