Job description

Salary: $2,280 to $2,470 per fortnight + 10.5% superannuation and a 9-day fortnight.

Are you are an enthusiastic person who enjoys working in a team environment and would like the opportunity to acquire new skills in Records Management?

Your new role will require your good reading, comprehension and numeric skills as well as a high level of accuracy.

About us

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

About the role

The Records Management Officer position has three major components:
  • Capturing, classifying, registering and tracking records and information within the Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS)
  • Creating service requests within the customer request management system
  • Maintaining the hard copy file system – legacy TCS system

Your new role is an operational position that relies heavily on teamwork and prioritisation of work. The work is deadline driven for the processing and routing of incoming correspondence. The Divisions of Council rely heavily on the timely provision of information and this service is vital to the effectiveness of Council’s operations.

About you

We are looking for a pro-active, enthusiastic person who has the ability to undertake allocated tasks within agreed deadlines. An understanding of records management principles and relevant legislation is useful for this role in assisting Council staff to meet their legal obligations. At the same time, a commitment to good quality customer service is required to ensure that Council staff meet their service delivery targets.

The ability to work in a team environment is critical to the success of this role. You will be expected to work in a business office environment and depending on Section needs, there may be a requirement to visit other Council premises or related Business premises in order to conduct their role. The person may be required to work variable hours.

Please note that it is a requirement to be double vaccinated to work in this position and to attend an interview.
